Which is the best enviroment for physical training?
I am from the Carolina coast and will be entering Marine Corps OCS in october. I have been training rigorously for it. My question is which environment will improve stamina the high altitude of the mountains or or the humid air of the coast, which Ive been in.
Well there is a reason athletes train at altitude. It has to do with the oxygen levels at higher elevations. The less oxygen in the air, the more efficient your body needs to become in aerobic activity. The key thing to remember if you do train at altitude is that it takes a few weeks for your body to adapt and begin to create more red blood cells, the cells that carry oxygen in the bloodstream. And it only takes 2 weeks for your body to readjust to sea level. Therefore you only have that time where the altitude training gives you an advantage.
